Danielle DeIeso, Programs Director - AMA U.S.A.

After working for five years in marketing at a global accounting and auditing firm, Danielle was looking for a change. She returned to school and eventually began studying Sociology at Portland State University. While attending, she discovered her passion for justice and advocacy which lead her to Care Net Pregnancy Resource Center in Vancouver, WA. As Client Services Manager she helped hundreds of women in crisis to receive compassionate care and peer counseling as well as facilitating parenting education and providing material assistance to underprivileged women and families.

As she neared the completion of her academics at PSU, she was given the opportunity to travel to Africa to be a private home educator to two children of a missionary family living in Ruhengeri, Rwanda. In September of 2008 she flew to Africa for a nine month journey of teaching and learning about life outside her tidy American borders. While there, she experienced the beauty, passion, and heartbreak of life in the heart of Africa, and came home in June of 2009 with a new world perspective and a deep desire for helping the people of Africa.

In February of 2010 she joined AMA as US Programs Director where she will oversee all aspects of AMA USA.

“There is no greater gift than to see a person who has nothing transformed by the promise of something better to come. To witness the light of hope come into the eyes is a remarkable and priceless treasure. I’m honored to be a part of the restoration of hope through AMA.”
